When can I take my puppy home?           When it is 8 weeks of age.

Does the puppy have all its' wormings?  Yes, each puppy is required to have three de-wormings by 6 weeks of age. 

Does the puppy have all of its' shots?     Yes, each puppy has its' first set of shots at 6 weeks of age.

Is the puppy eating solid food?                 Yes.  Solid food is introduced around 4 weeks of age. 

What brand of food are they fed?            They are fed Royal Canin # 30, available at PetSmart and PetCo .

Will they always have to eat that?            No.  Beginning at 8 months of age they are fed Royal Canin # 28.

Can I use a cheaper brand?                     Yes, but check with your vet first.  Any quality 'Puppy Chow' is suitable.

How soon can I change the food?           Always add the new food gradually, a little bit each day, until the puppy's
                                                                    digestive system becomes accustomed to it.

How often do I feed my new puppy?       Always keep a fresh supply of food and water available 24 hours a day.
                                                                    Puppies are nibblers and don't eat an entire meal at one time.

What is Nutri-Cal?                                    It is a high energy supplement recommended for small breeds to prevent
                                                                    hypoglycemia.

What is hypoglycemia?                            Hypoglycemia is low blood sugar.  It is a potentially life threatening problem
                                                                    for Chihuahuas and other toy breeds.  They typically develop this after
                                                                    exercising vigorously, when stressed (e.g. trip to the vet) or if they've
                                                                    gone too long without eating.  

Is Nutri-Cal the only thing I can give?      If you don't have Nutri-Cal available, you can use a dribble of corn syrup
                                                                   or honey to increase blood sugar levels.  A quarter inch strip of Nutri-Cal
                                                                    squeezed on to your finger is more convenient when travelling.  Your
                                                                    puppy will enjoy this pleasant tasting supplement.  

Can I come and see the puppies?          I welcome potential clients to visit my home anytime they wish and encourage
                                                                    them to do so.  This way you can see and interact with the new litter.
